To avoid any confusion: thanks to a third party, we were informed Toots Thielemans is awarded a prize at the Jazz Echo Gala in Hamburg.

Sadly enough, the organization of the event neglected to inform Mr. Thielemans or his management of the award.
We therefore regret to have to announce the following and hope not to disappoint Toots’ fans:

Toots Thielemans will not be in attendance at the Jazz Echo Gala on the 23th of May 2013 in Hamburg (Germany) as he will be playing a previously booked concert at the Arenberg Theatre in Antwerp (Belgium).

On friday September 28th and saturday September 29th, Toots played 2 remarkable sold-out concerts at the Lincoln Center in honor of his 90th birthday. Accompanying him were Herbie Hancock, Kenny Werner, Eliane Elias, Marc Johnson, Oscar Castro-Neves, Dori Caymmi and Rafael Barata.

The audience was thrilled by the music and the atmosphere on stage.

Speciaal voor zijn verjaardag zal Toots acht exclusieve verjaardagsconcerten geven op verschillende locaties in België.Niet alleen brengt hij zijn all time favoriete nummers met zijn intiem kwartet, de concerten worden ook in een uniek jasje gestoken.

Toots Thielemans celebrates his ninetieth birthday with a series of unique concerts in Belgium

2012 will be the year of Toots Thielemans. Belgium’s finest jazz musician and living legend turns 90. The organization TOOTS90, a collaboration between production company The Academy and the management of Toots Thielemans, wishes to celebrate this birthday with all the attention and splendor it deserves.

For this occasion, Toots will play eight exclusive birthday concerts on different locations in Belgium. Not only will he perform his top favorite songs with his trusted quartet, all the concerts will be given a unique atmosphere.

Toots in Tokyo

Toots and his European Quartet have just returned from a wonderful tour in Tokyo, Japan. At the last concert, we managed to film a special piece of music – The Dragon from the movie Japanese movie “Yasha”.
